About New Lynx Media

Stories for a future in which the links that unite us are stronger than the ones that divide

The Anthropocene desperately needs stories of hope, resilience, and reconciliation in the face of climate change.

New Lynx Media envisions a world in which humans have nurtured and rebuilt our relationships with the natural world and with each other.

An Atlantic Canada Angle

New Lynx Media features Atlantic Canadian stories about the people working courageously to reconcile Canadians with the natural world and with each other. This means those who are working relentlessly to safeguard the natural world, to avert climate catastrophe, to make our communities more resilient, and those who are working on advancing meaningful reconciliation between settlers and Indigenous people.

New Lynx Media’s Commitment

New Lynx is committed to honest, fair, and courageous storytelling. I will seek out the truth and hold power accountable; I will strive to minimize harm and work with integrity (see Bob Steele’s Guiding Principles for the Journalist).

Independent Journalism

This is an independent personal project. I receive no funding and am not affiliated with any media company or organization. If you would like to support my work and help cover the costs of my project, (such as website hosting costs, travel, audio & visual equipment), please make a small donation through my Buy Me a Coffee Page.

*disclosure: While objectivity is an important journalistic standard, I disagree that journalists should refrain from being involved in their communities for fear of appearing biased. However, transparency and openness are essential. Therefore, I wish to disclose that I happen to also do work as a freelance translator for several environmental groups in NB; I have family members who are actively involved in the environmental movement in NB and I happen to also be a federal public servant (seasonal employment during the summer months). Despite these connections, I will strive for objective, fair and truthful storytelling. I will be transparent about my connections, and there are some topics I will not cover if they give rise to a conflict of interest.
